Specs don't mean everything. He is looking at the PS3 and Xbox360 for their raw Computing power, which is important but not the most important thing. This has been proven before. Look at the Dreamcast. It lost to Nintendo64 and Playstation1. Yet was FAR more powerful than both. Same goes for the Gamecube versus the Playstation2. The Gamecube is more powerful, yet is less popular.

I don't care too much, I just stumbled upon this forum on Saturday and saw his post 'Nintendo Revolution' and had to reply. Every one of his posts was biased entirely towards the Nintendo Revolution. If you have ever heard the *BSD stories (its a unix based operating system fyi) you would know that having a biased and immature leader is no better than having no leader at all.

As for everyone saying I hate Nintendo, no, it is quite the opposite. I used to love Nintendo, but their recent systems have all been subpar, technically and games wise. I to date own every Nintendo system, and plan to own the Revolution when it comes out, just to see what it's all about. Nintendo's innovation since the Gamecube has been staggering in my oppinion. They've let games come out that should have been no where near out of beta or alpha testing, such as Future Tactics. The console itself is decent, though it is the only console of it's generation to not play DVDs, which is very important to me. Where the Gamecube stands out is it's compact size, unique design, and ergonomic controller. The Playstation 2 to me stands out when it comes to raw number of good games, and it also is able to play Playstation One games, which are still huge with alot of people, such as me. The XBox is a powerhouse and has it's fair share of decent games (Fable, Halo(2) for some, Bard's Tale, Morrowwind, etc) not to mention the best online support out of any console, which is great for me since I have a 10MB line.

The Nintendo Revolution has very few features that appeal outright to me, such as it's lack of standard media, they use a 6GB HD-CD from what I hear, which can't even compare in capacity to the blu-ray discs or HD-DVDs used by its competitors. More space means more content possible. I also am not big on having to pay for abandonware such as old NES/SNES/N64 games, though when it comes down to it I'll have SMB:All Stars, all Final Fantasies available (who knows they may get some English translations of other ones going), and other assorted favorites.

The x360 has several features that sound great to me, such as the highest integer calculations per second, which are HUGE in games. It also features the ability to play songs off of your XP PC while you play your games, and you can seamlessly switch to VIDEO CHAT with other people. This seems like such an amazing batch of features that it seems worth it alone. Live video chat with people from all around the world! It also boasts the ability to track all of your playing and gives you a rank which will provide for very competitive gameplay, even in singleplayer! To me x360 is the winner in overall innovation.

The PS3 has raw processing power, FF13, and PS2 and PS1 compatability. The archive of games that will be playable on the PS3 will be MASSIVE. PS3 also supports the highest resolution play and PSP compatablity. Though it lacks over the x360 in features it destroys it in raw floating point operations.

I'm sorry if that seems biased to you but it is my honest oppinion. Who knows though, if Nintendo finally scores full support of Square (they get a good Final Fantasy) and a few other third parties, things may go good for them, but as long as they don't have really any huge titles (Sony has Final Fantasy series, Gran Turismo, etc, while Microsoft has Halo, Elder Scrolls, etc) I doubt they will out perform either console in the market.

I use linux on my PC, I also have 2 other PCs in the house, one which is XP media center edition which my parents use and I have all my music on, and the other is a Battle Field 2 box, 3.2ghz 64bit p4. Microsoft said they still plan to have HD-DVD support in the future for the x360 though. Yes, blu-ray is veeery nice. I can't wait to get a Blu-Ray burner of my own. $_$

Regular 6800s? Nice combo. I'm on a single 6800 GT. Overclocked to 416MHz core 1.15GHz memory. Whenever I get a new water cooling system I'll raise it MUCH higher. I'm also thinking about getting a Pentium X by December. By then the 2nd generation ones will be out.
Also, have you heard much about the R520? From the rumors it's sounding VERY nice.
