In the season finale locke (the guy who was a cripple) fights it. And yeah it tears trees out and it never really shows it but it sounds mechanical and it came from a hole in the ground.

Not true. In an interview with one of the producers, they were going over some Lost myths. The guy said that one of the myths was they were all dead and in a purgatory. That myth was dismissed, and he said that they are not on any type of dream or dreamlike state, which would include death.

COMPLETE SPOILER OF THE FINALIE

The monster was breifly seen as a trail of smoke with a clinkinc mechanical sound. You could only see the smoke, as it is invisible. It capture Locke and pulls him into a ditch, but Kate (or Jack) throws a stick of dynamite down the hole, and it blows up supposedly killing the monster.

The hatch is blown open despit Hurley's objections after seeing the #'s (4,8,15,16,23,32,42) engraved on it. The hatch blows open and Locke looks down it. It is nothing but a shaft with a mangled ladder and the mechanical sound of the monster. The show ends without anyone going into the hatch or finding out exactly whats in it.

Deaths: Leslie Arzt accidentally blows himself up with dynamite.

The raft is found by the "others" and they steal Walt, shoot Sawyer, blow up the raft, and leave Jin and Micheal to float in the ocean. In not sure if Sawyer died, but he fell in the water after being shot in either the arm or chest (heart area). Jin jumped into the water after him. I don't know how they will get to the island or land for that matter.

Danielle (french woman) steals Claire's baby, now named Aaron, as an offering to the others in return for her son, Alex. The others are ghone when they get there however. Charlie and Sayied (sp) go after her and come across the plane filled with herion-filled religious statues (the one Boone fell out of). At the end of the finalie, you see Charlie's bag with a statue in it. This leads you to think he is back to his addicyion, but you cant rule out the possibility that he took an empty statue. After all, he was a religious man at one time.

Victor, Walt's dog, is left to Shannon when Walt leaves on the raft to sooth her loss of Boone. I cant remember if this was on the finalie or the episode before.

All the "cursed" numbers appear in Hurley's flashback in the finalie. You also learn in this flashback that the spanish comic Walt always had was originally Hurley's.

There are 42 original survivors left on the island, the last number in the cursed sequence.

Cool- so the monsters a robot? In new zealand we are only up to the episode when whatsisface dies (That guy who loved his half sister shannon or whatever). It showed lock getting shot in the next episode, but I knew he woudn't die because hes too important to the story
