I'm currently in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Closed beta on the PS3 and I must say the game is a definite improvement over the last title.
They mixed the class system of the old Battlefield games with a perk system as seen in titles like Call of Duty, Killzone 2, etc. Weapons also seem to feel a bit more powerful, and enemies respond a lot more realistically to being shot. The animations overall seem drastically improved.
The game has yet to be rated, but it seems that they're going for a "Mature" rating with this title as it has a lot more blood than any previous titles. Another thing that indicated this was the case is the fact that on the file information, it receives a parental control rating of "9" which is the rating given to "Mature" rated Games and R rated Movies on Playstation platforms.
Graphics are pretty good for a multi-platform title especially considering the scale, but I'd expect the PC version to look considerably better than what I'm currently playing. Also, another aspect of this game that is a massive improvement over the last Battlefield installments on the PC is the inclusion of destructible environments.
This current beta is only 24 players, but if the final PC version is 64 players, I could see this replacing Battlefield 2 for a lot of people.
