Nintendo elite 05-21-2005, 01:00 AM Well, it has to be one of these three, Super Mario Brothers 3 or the Original Super Mario Brothers, or The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, they rule! WTF? 05-21-2005, 02:22 AM hmmmmm, i think....grand theft auto, san andreas, thats good, vice city is good too, all the tony hawk games are excellent.....i just want attention.... guess_who_i_am 05-21-2005, 03:50 AM have you noticed how mostly all the games have been Nintendo whitedwarf 05-21-2005, 05:32 AM Either half-life 1 or ocarina of time john 05-21-2005, 02:10 PM Goldeneye 007, every day after school for probably 2 years straight we had people on my street playing that. You could never get bored of that game. I'm not really sure why we stopped playing :) One of the better newest games: God of War. It's a fairly short single player game, but I think it was really really good. diet poop 05-21-2005, 07:02 PM AHHHH!!!! Its a three way tie for my heart! I can't choose between "tetris", "Pac Man" and "Ratchet &Clank"! Tetris needs no explanation. Pac man, hes a circle, that eats dots, and is chased by ghosts. The sheer randomness speaks for itself. and ratchet& Clank is an amazing game from insomniac with great graphics, Tons of imaginative weapons and gadgets, and The re-playability of...well, something realy re-playable. john 05-21-2005, 08:10 PM Right up there with tetris is Lumines. It's SUCH a great game. TcheQ 05-28-2005, 12:22 PM Owch you guys haven't played enough naming recent games and such. Besides this erroneous topic (cmon, if you haven't played 20 years worth of games, your vote just doesn't count), here are my nomina (ones that haven't been mentioned nearly enough): Most playable per MB: Civilization Most Addictive: Baldur's Gate Half-Life Most Annoyingly Addictive: Diablo II Something Ninty: Zelda: Ocarina of Time Donkey Kong Country Goldeneye Perfect Dark Something Pre-Modern: Ultima VII Something nigh on impossible: Railroad Tycoon Something Classic: Donkey Kong Jr (don't know what this is? it (once) was a hand held, produced by Nintendo - you know the LCD games that would clock score @ 999... Something MMO: Reign (okay, okay, i -was- as GOD at this one. Ask someone about the time I actually won a round without actually playing) Something totally unknown, but perhaps the best Turn based multiplayer strategy game ever: Stars! Something ...Spectrum-y: Paperboy, Manic Minor Something BBC-micro-ey: L Something just damn good: System Shock II Something Legendary and I want to play it now: Thief __________ Bow before me, for I am your god. -_ of Antarctica, ¿ Alliance, World 2, BR7, Reign. FFX-2/pokemon emerald for RPG And I have to say castlevania:aria of sorrow and metroid:zero mission for handheld games. JSM 07-06-2005, 09:23 PM i think Ocarina Of Time would have to be the best ever game in my opinion. Or Tetris! viper.gtsr 07-09-2005, 10:45 PM halo halo halo halo halo :nuke:lyer:rm_polar_ Snow 07-13-2005, 11:34 AM I have a few Kingdom hearts Sims 2 Ratchet and clank 1, 2, and 3. jak 3 I only have ps2 and a computer so I would'nt know about the other systems japcarsrule 07-14-2005, 05:47 AM I would have to say Halo2 or GTA: San Andreas. anybody played Playboy the mansion? Kakt 07-14-2005, 07:50 AM Don't make me pick a single Final Fantasy! RPG-wise, it's difficult to find a better game than a FF, IMO. Final Core 12-28-2005, 05:28 PM I have a tie between Final Fantasy 7, kingdom hearts, and Final Fantasy x. I havent yet finished Final fantasy 7 but am having a great time on it.Kingdoms hearts has an awsome story line and great ending also i think there is a great little amount of things u can do after ur've clocked it.Final Fantasy x is a hard long game that takes time and effort an awsome roll playing game.So um...ya:lmfao: lookatmeeee 12-29-2005, 05:03 AM Metal Gear Solid series, resident evil series and final fantasy series ^^ Grant_gillis 12-31-2005, 12:55 PM half life 2! Atomic1fire 01-25-2006, 05:01 PM halo 2 pwns sonic was always fun soniv battle = fun Heyyou27 01-25-2006, 05:24 PM halo 2 pwns sonic was always fun soniv battle = fun You know, punctuation helps to make your posts understandable. Liquid_Snake 01-25-2006, 07:02 PM super mario 64 Painintheglavin 01-25-2006, 09:44 PM Either Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories,or one of the games based on the SCUMM engine. Eversor 02-01-2006, 07:56 PM Descent. Piero 02-02-2006, 01:55 AM "Star Wars: TIE Fighter" Graphics ahead of it's time, massively detailed gameplay (come on, you used every friggin' key on the keyboard!), great story, plenty of missions. Starfighter games have gone downhill from there... Also worth mentioning are: "Metal Gear Solid" - the whole concept was genius, and the execution was perfect. "Wolfenstein 3D" - the first ever First-Person Shooter. What more do I need to say...? "Grand Theft Auto" - another genius idea like no other in it's time "Indianapolis 500: The Simulation" - there was stuff in that game that racing game developers just don't care about any more. They could learn a few lessons from that game. andY 02-02-2006, 06:47 AM super smash bros melee- =] Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 4 - just got it now addicted on unlocking all the characters tales of symphonia - long rpg Stokes 02-02-2006, 06:11 PM Smash Bros Melee, hands down. SSBM owns, and it has stood the test of time. I don't care much for that oldschool stuff anymore. It had it's time to shine way back when, but there are better games now...I'm not gonna say that Super Mario World is BETTER than today's games simply because it was released earlier. But if I had to pick a classic, I'd definitely go with Super Mario World. It was better than the original Super Mario Bros and SMB3 combined. guess_who_i_am 02-03-2006, 09:39 PM SSBM definatly way better than all sonic games as sonic sucks and is *** Liquid_Snake 02-03-2006, 10:00 PM omfg i forgot Tetris. Boong 02-03-2006, 10:56 PM tetris sux sayre2 12-15-2006, 05:26 PM Most of you wont even know what this is but, Fable is my favorite. hehe my dad has fable the lost chapters it looks cool, but my fave would have 2 be kingdom hearts 1 and 2, rachet and clank 1, 2, and 3, pokemon lol. ===== I have a few Kingdom hearts Sims 2 Ratchet and clank 1, 2, and 3. jak 3 I only have ps2 and a computer so I would'nt know about the other systems im with u. i love all the rachet and clank games, plus jak n daxter and i LOVE kingdom hearts 1 n 2. oh and also the sims 2! i also like pokemon lol ===== tetris sux u suk lol Ryu-Nacho 12-15-2006, 10:20 PM Well, since it's been revived, Game Informer says that Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii may officially take the spot of best game ever. But, from what I've played, I'm saying Disgaea 2 atm. Axel 12-15-2006, 10:27 PM Yeah I heard TP's pretty good. However, out of the games that I've played, for PC it's Counter Strike: Source, PS2 it's Need For Speed Underground 2, Gamecube it's Super Smash Bros: Meelee and for Xbox it's Halo. paranoia 12-16-2006, 09:30 PM Colossal Cave Adventure. wheelieboi 12-17-2006, 12:43 AM Dragonball z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 guess_who_i_am 12-18-2006, 04:19 AM Donkey Kong Country 2 would be my favourite game, it had great characters, fantastic graphics, supurb music and fun gameplay. Final Fantasy VII for PS. Revolutionized game play. Some of u guys probly are to young to have played it when it was the best. FF7 is an overhyped piece of rubbish. Well, since it's been revived, Game Informer says that Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii may officially take the spot of best game ever. It's one of the few games to live up to that innovation bull shit Nintendo has been pulling. SSBM definatly way better than all sonic games as sonic sucks and is *** Ignore this, at this time I had only played Shadow and Sonic Heroes. All anime games suck not just because they are based of anime but because they are rushed and poorly made, the gameplay engines are all similar and lame. Ryu-Nacho 12-18-2006, 06:16 PM @paranoia: Wuzzat? @wheelieboi: No. @GWIA: Sadly, I'm going to agree with the anime-based games thing. I've not yet seen a game based off an anime that was really great; generally, they're just average, if that. Also, I'm starting to debate between Disgaea 2 and Okami for my favorite game. guess_who_i_am 12-20-2006, 04:04 AM It's like that with lots of commercial games, although anime ones always seem worse like I have a DBZ game and a Narnia game, I enjoyed the Narnia one but the DBZ one was so meh. However ther Unfaboulous game is worse than any Anime game ever, it involves getting punch and dancing... paranoia 12-22-2006, 07:00 AM @paranoia: Wuzzat? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossal_Cave_Adventure Zetex's Revenge 12-22-2006, 10:21 AM Pong. Drunken_Shinobi 12-22-2006, 02:32 PM Ah...that's a classic. guess_who_i_am 12-22-2006, 04:46 PM Either Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories,or one of the games based on the SCUMM engine. CoM was sub-par at best. It was one of the worst games on the GBA, right down there with "Unfabolous" and the ones where you dress up Barbie's dogs. Sir Otter 04-10-2007, 06:31 AM PacMan - An oldie but a goodie. Sen 04-16-2007, 09:06 PM You guys are crazy. The greatest game would have to be a RPG. Personally, my vote would be for FF VII. But Pokemon? Sims? DRAGON BALL Z??? Please... Heyyou27 04-16-2007, 09:30 PM Doom. gussa 04-17-2007, 07:24 AM sims was a good concept it was the first game where you actually were the master of what happened... it sold millions. also, half life. Dudeo 04-24-2007, 09:13 AM Soul Calibur 3. Along with any of a hundred fighting games. You know what? As intense as Hulk Ultimate Destruction was, my vote goes to LOZ: Twilight Princess for the Wii. insan3 04-24-2007, 08:01 PM Half-Life 2 is up there. So is Morrowind. Both were quiet awesome gussa 04-28-2007, 03:15 AM yes. who's played the new morrowind? if so, is it any good? Zetex 04-28-2007, 09:00 AM Oblivion? insan3 04-28-2007, 06:47 PM Oblivion? That game is up there as well, I loved it Niger 04-30-2007, 09:29 AM Ocarina of Time and Warcraft Natus Lumen 04-30-2007, 05:59 PM Starting with most favorite: Pokemon Red/Blue, Golden Sun (only the first one), Final Fantasy X, X-2 (although the battle system blew goats), Katamari Damacy, Guitar Hero, Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Starfox (the first one on GC, the RPG one), Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Xenosaga. I didn't like Zelda all that much because I played it after a lot of RPGs, and so I couldn't stop thinking how like all other RPGs ever made Zelda was, when, in truth, all other RPGs totally ripped off Zelda. It just seemed like such a typical game to me. insan3 04-30-2007, 08:23 PM Ocarina of Time and Warcraft I liked zelda as well, but I didnt think it was an all time great btw, your avatar is disturbing Heyyou27 04-30-2007, 09:47 PM yes. who's played the new morrowind? if so, is it any good? http://gprime.net/board/showthread.php?t=9871 Natus Lumen 05-01-2007, 06:07 PM Pokemon Red = my renewed obsession. Snow 05-01-2007, 07:38 PM Sims is too hard and you get nothing really all that great in the end. FFX was great along with all the 2-D Zelda games (except 2, yuck). I really like the Dark Cloud series too. Oh and can't forget about Elder Scrolls. gussa 05-02-2007, 09:00 AM morrowind (the third) would have to be up there. not for graphics but for game play definitely. i have the TES construction set which lets me create levels. so that also may influence my opinion on the game! grant.a06 05-02-2007, 10:39 AM i am a big mario fan so i would have to say super mario bros (original) for the NES (nintendo entertainment system) lol brackets... lol random Yuruka 05-02-2007, 11:45 AM Another World Ftw!! <3 <3! Sen 05-11-2007, 02:47 PM FF 7 all the way!!! gussa 05-11-2007, 08:30 PM yeah.. and ffx x-bam_bam-x 05-16-2007, 03:45 AM have you noticed how mostly all the games have been Nintendo yeh strangely enough nintendo seems to be the only system that has a novelty effect..i mean you play it for a bit and then get bored and never use it again..for example the DS or the Wii..both really novelty things with the touch screen and motion sensors.. imo i think that the sony playstation 2 will forever be the best system to play games on..the best game for it would have to be grand theft auto (all games) such a leap in gaming technology and im sure they are going to get so much better (can't wait for the new GTA V on Xbox360, its gunna own ) Ryu-Nacho 05-17-2007, 07:26 PM Well, I just read through this entire thread *boy, it's getting old*, and am surprised that no one has mention God of War I & II. I think they're ok, but I wouldn't rank them as favorites. Also, a long time back, I said most anime games are average at best. I found one that is actually a lot of fun. On PS1, Gundam Battle Assault 2, a 2-D fighter game. It didn't introduce anything new to the world of 2-D fighters, but it made well on the concepts already in place at the time. Current favorite game: Guild Wars. gussa 05-18-2007, 12:04 PM that gets a bit dull after a while.... i quit it but i might join back up some time later.... i like sandbox games such as garry's mod and portals (its not out yet) Ryu-Nacho 05-18-2007, 05:50 PM Yeah, I've been off and on Guild Wars since it's release. Farming can only provide so much entertainment. Sandbox games...About the closest I get to that is Map Editors for various games. Lots of fun to tinker with. Of those, my favorite *and the one I'm best with* would be Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. gussa 05-18-2007, 09:06 PM i liked the elder scrolls 3 because i also got the construction set with my copy...... i made a coat with everything!!! gabrielwhist 05-20-2007, 02:52 AM I agree that Fable is cool. But best game ever definitely goes to the original mario for nes. Best modern game? Tough to say, there is such variety. I may be shot for this, but I am personally a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. Also Spiderman 2 just rocks for free roaming New York. gussa 05-20-2007, 04:03 AM kingdom hearts had a very weird and wonderful storyline and was obviously written by a Japanese animator high on opium........ never played spider man 2 but 1 was a fairly ordinary game. gabrielwhist 05-20-2007, 07:37 PM Yeah, one isn't that great, but two has an expansive map of New York. And you can free roam without following the plot, and after you beat it there are still tons of things to do. One of the most fun games I've played because of the free-roaming. Story line is not all that great. |
