Girl's death probed after parents rely on prayer (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23832053/)

People this stupid shouldn't be allowed to breed. They wouldn't treat her because it's up to God to heal her? Don't these fanatical religious morons consider the fact that God also gave them brains with which to think, and take care of themselves and each other? They should stop eating and let God keep them from starving.

God did want her to die young. That's why He gave her stupid parents who've apparently never read the bible.

Idiots. *sigh* Just more proof that the God idea is a way to escape reality and shove ones problems onto something else. Sure it makes you happier, but it can't be applied to practical situations like this. Prayer doesn't actually do anything.

Poor kid.

If those parents had read the Bible they would probably be aware of God's encouragement for humans to help each other. And use the gifts God had given them to be helpful to their neighbors.

Yeah its not like God is just gonna let everyone not have to eat, and then no one dies, or dont work and still make money. You still got to do stuff

I remember there was a girl at my school who said medicine only worked for religious people. That was so funny, because she believed it and was yelling at people all class.

Yeah...that is pretty dumb, I mean they should know that God doesn't always use some sort of "miracle" to heal someone.

Why? I think this is a valid topic of discussion.

I agree with DP and Gabby both. Just because you don't want something there doesn't mean other people don't as well.

EDIT: Triple negative woot

That is sad. It's not really illegal though, they wern't neglectful if they really believed there would be some intervention.

Ok, your daughter is dying. There are two pills sitting on the table, one red, one blue. The red pill is clinically proven to do what is necessary to save her life, and you know this. The blue pill, well there's some people who think it might help but it usually doesn't and no doctors ever use it. The blue pill is sitting a little closer so you figure what the hell, I think this might work so let's just give it a shot. Your daughter is now in agony and can barely breathe, but you decide to gamble with her life anyway. She takes the pill, but after a while she just keeps getting worse. She stops breathing. For some unknown reason you decide you don't really feel like giving her the red pill that will save her life, and shrug your shoulders and decide that if the blue pill doesn't work then you'll just let her die. So she does.

Nope, no neglect there.

Not neglectful, retarded. You need to be sympathetic to the needs and feelings of those whos brains don't properly function. Like this family. Or Samiam22.

It's not like the family knew she had such an illness. There are plenty of illnesses that you never would have thought you had until it's diagnoised, and by that time, you're dead. Sure, the smart thing to do is to take the child to the doctor, but really.. I don't go to the doctor everytime I'm feeling shitty. Even if I'm kneeling over thinking I'm about to die, I usually just wait it out.

I'm pretty sure that some of you have been like, "oh, it's nothing to worry about..." to some kind of sickness. I just don't think they're necessarily "idiots" for thinking that their daughter would recover. I don't believe they expected a "miracle" because it doesn't seem that they even thought she would die in the first place. A bit of rest and some prayers can't hurt, can it? Could've been a crazy flu for all they knew.

Well the major problem with alot of western religion is the belittlement of the greatest gift god ever bestowed upon man.

That gift is the ability to choose.

Most western religions spend all thier efforts to take away the most precious gift ever given, the abiltiy to choose. All teachings point to taking away more and more choices and forcing people into a single line of thought, its saddening.

You know, you just took everything I think about religion and boiled it down to those few lines. Cool kid.
