Dude, you're right... the Big Lebowski, I can't believe I forgot that. Also, if you get a chance, see Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki, those are freaking amazing. Also, how could I forget Howl's Moving Castle.

FUCK YEAH, ARMY OF DARKNESS.
Oh God. That movie was so awful. There were two great lines (one which was put into a Coheed song) but the theatrics made me want to kill myself.
Not all good movies are action films...

In this order, starting with the best:

Lucky Number Slevin
Brick
The Chumscrubber
Accepted
Sin City
Mirror Mask
Stardust
Transformers
Smokin' Aces
40 Days and 40 Nights

Pan's Labyrinth...maybe.

Hotel Rwanda
Spirited Away
The Last Samurai
Powder
Phenomenon
A Beautiful Mind
Princess Mononoke
Grave of the Fireflies
AI: Artificial Intelligence
Pan’s Labyrinth
Edward Scissorhands
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Chocolat
All of those are either excessive in length, way too violent, or way too weird/goth-ish

NickyChris
02-10-2008, 09:59 PM
There were only two "weird/goth" movies listed, and they were Tim Burton films. As well as there being only two really violent movies, and what can I say...? I like long movies. I would rather a movie be almost too long to bear than too short to bear.

Samiam22
02-10-2008, 10:39 PM
Same here, especially when it's really exciting.

EDIT: I don't see much movies, main reason is because it costs like $50 to go to the movies to see one movie, but soon I'll be able to pay for my own tickets and stuff, 1 child not 1 adult and 2 children.

Crap... I forgot that one. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. That's like, the greatest movie ever. Little Miss Sunshine was a cute movie.

Natus Lumen
02-11-2008, 06:55 PM
I still have yet to see it. The title sounds awesome, but the previews didn't look all that great.

As of this morning, I officially decided that Transformers is probably my favorite movie of all time, running neck-and-neck with Lucky Number Slevin.

Stargate?
Yes, it inspired the TV show "Stargate SG-1" also, the reason Army of Darkness is so good is because of the awful filming.
