View Full Version : i want to create a pedal board... (guitar related thread)
gussa 01-27-2008, 09:23 AM so far my list includes a Cry baby and a BOSS RC2.
but i cant think of what distortion to get.
i like the look of the DN-2 but i also like the blues drive...
soo many choices..
what pedals do you play and how well do they work for you?
Krusty_The_Klown 01-27-2008, 02:56 PM The pedals on my bike are pretty awesome but sometimes make me lose traction.
Natus Lumen 01-27-2008, 06:38 PM I had a cheap distortion pedal for my bass once, but it broke. And I don't play guitar enough to use any effect modelers.

please be sarchastic.
gabrielwhist 01-27-2008, 10:11 PM Sarchastic? Never heard of that. Perhaps you mean sarcastic? lol at grammar nazis.
Krusty_The_Klown 01-28-2008, 10:12 PM "Never heard of that," is a sentence fragment, I conjecture due to the lack of a subject. I believe you mean, "I never heard of that." And in your cleverly hidden text, it should be "Lol, at the grammar Nazis." This is because Nazi is a proper noun and in need of capitalization. And the acronym, lol, required a comma in front of it.

Conjecture used as a verb means a statement based on guesswork without a factual base, you wishy-washy guessin'-ass bastard.
LOL stands for "laugh out loud", which can be interpreted as an imperative command, and therefore a legitimate sentence in itself. Now I don't know about you, but I sure as fuuuuuuuuuuuck would not write/type/verbalize "Laugh out loud, at *insert wacky subject matter here*." That's separating an independent clause from a prepositional phrase, and it is a stupid fucking thing to do. Die in a fire.

Way to fail to correct. You should be able to correct that one pretty easily.
Natus Lumen 01-29-2008, 08:16 AM Anyway, Gussa, any good pedal board has a wah, delay, and possibly distortion/fuzz. I like to mess around with talk boxes, too, but seriously who uses those on stage? The DiMarzio Bad Horsie wah is probably the best one on the market for its price, but you also might look at the different selection of Dunlops. The Zakk Wilde delay pedal is good (although the Boss digital delay seems to be the most popular, from what I hear), but there may be better out there. If you're going for fuzz, the Jimmy Hendrix/Eric Clapton signature models are obviously good for classic rock etc., but if you want a newer, more metal distortion pedal instead of classic fuzz, I'd go with the Boss DS-1.
Anyway, I don't even see why you would want any of these if you could just get something like this (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-ME20-Multieffect-Guitar-Pedal?sku=152268).
gussa 01-30-2008, 03:20 AM the only problem with the me-20 (and in the same sense the gt-8)
is that if you want to decrease or change a single element of the overall effect, you need to go through and fiddle with all these little knobs etc.
with a customised pedal board (when you know what you wanna change) you just turn a single knob and thats it.....
also, a custom means i can expan should i run into a large sum of money and wish to but new pedals (that arent featured on the me-20 or gt8)
Krusty_The_Klown 01-30-2008, 04:38 PM Wow, I wasn't even trying to troll that much but really pissed you guys off. I was just joking with you. Sheesh. No wonder you get into arguments over whether or not a certain song is a rock song or whether or not a song sounds good or not.

Why do you think your post made even the slightest impact on my day? Was it because I told you to die in a fire? If so, I can explain. I said it because this is the internet, and if you give a fuck, you're an idiot.
Krusty_The_Klown 01-30-2008, 07:33 PM Meh, I guess I suck at telling when people are actually serious or not. I'm gonna go cut myself now. kthxbai

Laugh out loud, at your words.

Why is taking the internet seriously such a bad thing?

The internet is a fantasy world where any fuck-up can be cool, and anything can be said. It's like reading a tabloid magazine and taking it at face value.

Why did you bold it? It makes perfect fucking sense. You read tabloid, you believe tabloid to have some worth other than as one-ply ass paper.
