I'm gonna make a sig request thread!

Not really. I'd rather just have you all post your favourite sigx0rz. They can be made by you or from someone else.

I can't wait to see how quickly this thread dies.

Time for axel to lol. -_-

Anyway, can this be a critique/suggestions thread? I kind of need some help. They just don't look as professional as some other peoples' art. Just don't be too cruel.

Can you criticize these including the ones in my signature? It would be a great help.

HOLY SHIT HOW DID YOU MAKE THAT ?!?!?!?!?!

lol.

Krusty: Hmm... alright. This is gonna take the most typing I've done in years.

First off, stick to one render in a tag. That way, you create a focus which makes it easier to look at.
Secondly, don't use text effects. Just keep the text plain and simple, and don't make it too big as it distracts from the focus. Sometimes you don't need to use text.
Thirdly, don't make the backgrounds so detailed and layered with effects. A little bit of smudging/brushing doesn't hurt, but dont' overdo it. And stay away from the scanlines and anything like that which overlays the whole sig.
Fourthly, don't use grunge/tech brushes. Just don't, it's half-assed and takes away the effort. Unless you're using them to smudge/do something along the lines of that don't use them.
Fifthly, don't use that outer glow effect on renders. Try to blend in the renders by using smudging or soft erasing the edges. That way, you help to create depth as well.
Sixthly, try to create a lighting source in your tags. Look at the renders you're using and determine where the lighting's coming from and base your tag on that lighting, eg. which side to be lighter than the other. To create lighting, you can do 3 things: use a soft white brush and brush around; use a radial gradient or paint one layer black and set it to linear dodge and brush it with white brushes. Make sure you lower the opacities when you brush.
The good thing is, at least you got the colouring right. Try not to make them too monotone, y'know. As you get more advanced in tag-making.
It's also good to check out tuts around the internet. Join graphic art sites, they help immensely.

I think my rant's over, all the best.

Thanks for the criticism. I'm kind of running out of color choices. How do you find what color scheme you're going to use? Is it based on the base image you have or do you pick a few colors before you start? Also, what are good graphic art sites to join? No doubt I'll get smoked by other, better artists. They make my penis feel small. ;D I still don't know how to make a fire effect. I hope they help me as much as you said they would. Thanks again.

Just base the colour choices off the render, or pick random colours xD.

Um.. join www.gfxdesign.net, they're pretty spot on with their tags. Every other site's shut down =(.
