Same. I'm making progress though.

I usually use youtube.

I like moving through tutorials at my own pace though, not be annyoed when the video goes through a part to fast, or takes to much time on a part I don't care about.

Just pause... or skip. :P That's what I do.

Meh, I like working from stills, video is teh fail.

My style is usually to mimic and add my own touch. I never trace images, as reproducing is more helpful.
