View Full Version : There's Too Many!
Krusty_The_Klown 11-30-2007, 09:51 PM I've seen that we've had a horde of mindless morons joinging all at the same time. But for some reason, have striking similarities:
1. Photochopz signatures.
2. Arcade-related fetishes.
3. Joined at nearly the same time.
4. Mostly terrible grammar.
I dunno but that's what I gathered in at a glance. Not looking for an argument here.
gussa 11-30-2007, 09:53 PM were being invaded.
Ryu-Nacho 11-30-2007, 10:08 PM They're members from another forum. One of them claims they want to be friends, but I haven't seen any positive steps in that direction.
Krusty_The_Klown 11-30-2007, 10:09 PM Man, I hope we don't have a revolution. That would suck.
Ryu-Nacho 11-30-2007, 10:10 PM I'm just going to ban them if they don't turn around. I've given them all a warning already.
gussa 11-30-2007, 10:11 PM we wont.
p.s. ryu: is it can be flame time now?
Supa Fool 11-30-2007, 10:11 PM Ryu, I say ban the worst one to set them straight that what they're doing will not be tolerated.
gabrielwhist 12-01-2007, 12:06 AM I can't handle this. There are far to many new posts, 90% of which are pure idiocy from utter retards. The only people whos post I have read, and not puked over so far are Janitor Matt, and Josh Bond or w/e. And both of them can be largely annoying. Until this clears up some, I'll be taking a sabbatical from gprime.

Agreed. Completely.

be good, write!
I'mma tool. Completely.
O'RLY?
Supa Fool 12-01-2007, 12:26 AM I expect you will be banned very soon, and I will savor laughing behind your back until then.
=====
and what a sad 500th post that was..
blackice 12-01-2007, 12:27 AM I'm closer to banning you if you dont calm down.
Supa Fool 12-01-2007, 12:28 AM :/
MrNaPaLm32 12-01-2007, 12:45 AM owned...
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 08:34 AM Well that's silly. He should ban the other fool. Not our Super one.
Dudeo 12-01-2007, 08:38 AM Did this all happen over two days? Man, I wish I was on to see it.
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 08:39 AM Roughly over span of 3 hours, I would say.
Dudeo 12-01-2007, 08:49 AM oh, man. I woulda killed 'em.
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 09:05 AM It's not like any of us could. That's up to the mods.
Dudeo 12-01-2007, 09:08 AM Verbally.
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 09:11 AM That's best left to the n00bs.
Dudeo 12-01-2007, 09:52 AM k... Can't I just tell them to die?
Natus Lumen 12-01-2007, 10:05 AM Here's how I think the system of Gprime-justice should be handled, in a step-by-step process:
1) A new person joins
2) People form their opinions on the noob/newb over the course of about fifty posts (for them). This number can maybe be adjusted to maybe 25-30.
3) If they stay around long enough to accumulate [50] posts, we have a vote in the veterans lounge deciding whether they should stay or not, and maybe copy in a few other people who might not be able to access the 'lounge but are still worthy of opinion.
4) Of course, there are people some of us will want to ban by the sixth or seventh post....
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 10:06 AM Meh, I've never liked those kinds of things, it just seems so...elite.
Natus Lumen 12-01-2007, 10:17 AM That may be, but still, I agree with Krusty. Something has to be done about this awful influx of n00bs.
Zetex 12-01-2007, 10:24 AM Or new people could just join freely (like normal boards) and follow the rules (http://gprime.net/board/showthread.php?t=14)?
It's an internet forum, not a country.
Natus Lumen 12-01-2007, 10:27 AM You can't just trust people to follow the rules, a fact made obvious by Phil and that other cock-face.
Zetex 12-01-2007, 10:29 AM And that's when they get an infraction or a ban?
I don't know. That's how most boards work (this one used to also when it was active)
blackice 12-01-2007, 10:32 AM If we banned everyone that broke the rules, we'd have noone left except the 2 admins and a few super mods.
The existing, established members here are worse at breaking the rules than newcomers are.

now there's a recipe for suck-cess.
absolutely guaranteed to maintain a nice small core of sycophants and like-thinkers with lethargic, minimal and regulated growth of overall site-members. I'm sure the site owner created this forum with just that in mind - "screw profit - I don't care if i make any money with this site, as long as I can make it as comfortable as possible for the few who got here the earliest!"
Here's a radical thought that's just so crazy it just might work:
You establish a forum conduct policy, you know, rules of some sort.
Oh wait! you already HAVE! INCREDIBLE! (http://gprime.net/board/showthread.php?t=14)
And then you decide who stays by whether they adhere to said rules or not, as opposed to, say, whether all the "cool kids" decide if they can stay, or whether you happen to share the same opinions and viewpoints as they do.

I wouldn't go so far as to say worse...
Basically if you treat everyone with the respect they all deserve and use common sense when you post, this will be a great place for everyone. We seem to be doing fine right now, so let's try to keep it that way :D
People have their own opinions; respect them. Don't tell someone "they suck" or their opinions are "wrong" or "retarded."
I'll admit that I'll toss off an immature insult from time to time and sometimes I tell people (actually just today) to leave. So does everyone, except maybe D_S and DT. However, not to cross the line of my lack of authority, but I haven't seen a single post from Phil-whatever showing any kind of respect or kindness towards anyone, with the exception of his "Attn: Blackice" thread.

Then create a new set? The only rule that I see that isn't currently in effect if about flaming. You used to enforce the old rules and (omgomgomg) the forum stayed active! I'm not talking about the time when you turned into a complete nazi and made the mature board, screened each post, and ran background checks through the FBI on the new members. I'm talking about before that.

blackice 12-01-2007, 10:53 AM I put up with enough crap from my own kids. I shouldn't feel like I have to come on here and treat half the people here like that too.
Zetex 12-01-2007, 10:55 AM A thing called a moderator....
being an admin is pointless if you're not going to do your job to the full extent
Krusty_The_Klown 12-01-2007, 10:58 AM A thing called a moderator....
should be me. ;)
blackice 12-01-2007, 11:01 AM yeah well most of the mods aren't enforcing the rules and I don't have the time to patrol the whole board by myself all the time.
Zetex 12-01-2007, 11:04 AM Simply ask them to start enforcing the rules then? They only aren't enforcing them because they believe they don't have too.
Natus Lumen 12-01-2007, 11:07 AM Ah well. It's your call Blackice. The most we can do is tell you (or a select few others) that we're having problems with other members. We can't do anything about it but sit there and take it in the ass or be disrespectful right back to them.
blackice 12-01-2007, 11:17 AM Most of the confrontations are because existing members jump all over them and the newcomers get defensive. Be fair and play nice, and I bet most of them will be nice right back.
Zetex 12-01-2007, 11:18 AM Exactly
MeTal CaNdYcaNe 12-01-2007, 11:21 AM Well yes. I can whole heartedly agree about that.
I figure let whoever join, and if a lot of their posts are stupid, give them a warning, and give them that chance, and then ban them if they don't listen. Which is pretty much the way it's always been, right?
