View Full Version : I don't really think we know very much...

NOW BEFORE YOU JUMP ME

I just wanted to know something...:P

For a while now I've been wanting to see what people's views really are... Truly. And WHY...

No one ever seems to be able to answer that question.

How much do we really know about what's going on there?

I am truly convinced that we know close to nothing... and the ones who do know stuff don't say anything. The people who say they hate the president and this war never really seem to thoroughly be able to answer the question 'Why'.

I dunno... maybe I'm just completely ignorant. Maybe I'm wrong about this.

I guess I just want to know:

Just how much to each of you know about the War on Terror? I would prefer if you only recite from memory... and if you do do research... if you wouldn't mind giving us your sources. :P

I just want to see how much we really know about this.

Are any of us really in any sort of place to have any judgments at all? Good or bad...? On anyone linked to this whole fiasco going on? I just don't feel like I know anything about this war... at least not enough to pass full judgment on anybody.

I mean... aren't most good leaders disliked by their followers because they do what they think is right... weather people like them for it or not? I dunno... I'm not saying I'm "Pro BUSH rah!!!" or anything, though I'm not "Anti Bush" either. I mean... he seems to..... know what he's doing....... doesn't he.................?

Oh I dunno.

If he doesn't I'd like to know. If he does I'd like to know.

And Led, in advance if you would kindly stfu... Just because we're all still quite young doesn't mean we're not capable of discussing politics. What you rather us just sit in the sandbox and try to convince ourselves that the world is this completely happy place, or that because we're a specific age that it shouldn't matter to us?

That's stupid. You wouldn't generally strike me as an "ignorance bliss" kind of guy.

It's not like we're getting any younger, or any more naive as we grow, and the real world is literally just around the corner (not that I'm saying you live in some fantasy... I hardly know anything about your personal life, but your personal views on life seem to be at least somewhat clear). Americans are way too sheltered, in my opinion.

I don't wanna make an idiot of myself again, so I'll just post what's made me so biased.

-He has turned good allies against us with the war.
-he has had many lost chances to reduce the number of troops.
-he was too quick to assume the worst from Iraq about the WMDs. (possibly influenced by Bush wanting to finish where his father left off.)
-he angered Iran to the point of us becoming their major enemy.
-he has not yet taken the opportunity to get out of Iraq through the attacks from Turkey

Napalm, Led, and the (I wanna say late but he isn't necessarily dead) Heyyou27 are the only ones who seem to know an extensive amount about this subject, so I'll leave it to them.

No. Good leaders are beloved by their people for doing what IS right, not what they personally believe to be right. Good leaders listen to the will of the people.

And I highly doubt that Bush is actually stupid enough to think that he is right. After 9/11 action WAS necessary, but Bush acted foolishly, especially with the claims of WMD's. After we entered Iraq, we were right to remain in, we would have looked weak if we had drawn out. However, once we helped Iraq to instigate a democracy, and they ASKED us to LEAVE, and we REFUSED, Bush was just being a greedy little fuck. More that anything its always been about the oil, and thats ALL its about now.

Anyway, I don't claim to be an expert on this topic, this is just the info I know, and the way I interpret it. Though I did try to be unbiased, for my biased opinoin would have read: "Bush is a douche, I can't for that mother fucker to leave office."

He just posted what appears to be a mathematical equation proving that he knows far too much about the subject, therefore he is right and we should not question him... Or at least that what it looks like to me... I couldn't give a flying fuck about Bush, since I'm English and I go to a sheltered boarding school... Eh... I would care if it affected me in anyway, but I'm not important enough for shit like that to bother me, I'll just try and deal with life that I'm experiencing right now, not what could happen later...

If one could really become a master at math with the help of the internet, ignoring school lessons... it's something I wonder. O_o

I know, somewhat random.

I know no calculus either. I've found recently though I'm extremely gifted in geometry, especially with triangles,(can't wait until i can take trigonometry! ^_^)

As far as Bush goes, when the war began I was all for him. While I do NOT claim to know very much about the war (I've never really read up on it) I started to wonder after everything seemed to be better over there, why the troops were still there.

Then I started hearing stories like this http://www.amconmag.com/12_15_03/feature.html not to mention Bush's obviously unconstitutional Patriot Acts, allowing the government to invade it's people's privacy.

THIS is what worries me, the actions being taken here IN the US. As sorry as I am to say it, the army is a tool of the government, and each soldier in the middle east knew the risks they were taking when they joined the military. But US citizens have certain rights, rights that I believe every man is entitled to, and the actions taken by Bush seem to be constantly interfering with their rights.
