View Full Version : What's your IQ?
The last time I took a Stanford-Binet test, mine was 139. But that was like 5 years ago. I take the occasional online test, but those things are not to be taken seriously (although, honestly, the results are usually around the same 5-point range, 137- 142). What's yours. No need to exaggerate.
gabrielwhist 10-17-2007, 11:03 PM Last time I took an actual IQ test was like, 6th grade I think. I got about halfway through, to the part with all the shapes and stuff, when I fell asleep. (I'd been up til 2 o'clock reading the night before) Pissed the teacher off, but even with a half finished test it was something like, 120, I think.
never taken one and I don't trust net tests.
gussa 10-18-2007, 06:33 AM 120-130....
Willy_Wonka 10-18-2007, 12:01 PM 20-20 I think lololololololololol
Dudeo 10-18-2007, 12:08 PM 140-150 last time, but I haven't learned much since then, so 130-140.
=====
20-20 I think lololololololololol
Wait, the purple dots form a "P"? No wai!!!
Samiam22 10-18-2007, 01:21 PM I don't know, I might take Tickle but thats for 13+ but who cares
Nicky 10-18-2007, 03:44 PM I've never taken an official IQ test... and if I have I don't remember taking it.
Ryu-Nacho 10-18-2007, 03:50 PM I've never taken an official one, but most online tests I've taken say 130+. We're a bunch of smarty-pants.
insan3 10-18-2007, 05:16 PM Ive never taken a real one, never even an online one. Ill take one real quick
=====
123 is mine according to IQtest.com
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 06:05 PM My IQ is around 160.
The Perfect Seven 10-18-2007, 07:01 PM AB-positive
My IQ is around 160.
...And Jesus was a prostitute.
EDIT
Scratch that. It is plausible, but I doubt it was a Stanford-Binet based test. Maybe Cattell
Ryu-Nacho 10-18-2007, 08:41 PM ...And Jesus was a prostitute.
Actually, he was a raptor.
http://www.jonworthylake.com/Pictures/raptor1.jpg
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 08:43 PM I can take it again and copy and paste the results..
I take IQ tests every year for my school...I go to a 'gifted' school, if that's what you wanna call it.
I might be like 5 points off.
Ryu-Nacho 10-18-2007, 08:44 PM I dunno...I would think that someone with that kind of IQ would know better than to post from something as frustrating as their Wii.
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 08:52 PM I post from the Wii because I have desktop computer restrictions.
Nicky 10-18-2007, 08:52 PM Maybe we should believe him... Why would he lie? This is the internet after all.
O_o
In all seriousness though... I do somewhat believe him. I can't say I think it's as far as freaking 160... but who are we to assume that he's not gifted?
gabrielwhist 10-18-2007, 09:05 PM Perhaps hes like me, a lazy genius.
Actually, pretty much every one who's replied is a quote-unquote "Genius", at least using the Stanford-Binet scale. 130-134 is borderline.
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 09:20 PM I have tons of proof..don't make me waste desktop time posting links.
=====
Perhaps hes like me, a lazy genius.
That's me completely.
Drunken_Shinobi 10-18-2007, 09:24 PM I haven't taken a serious IQ test but from some online IQ tests I've taken I figured out that I have an IQ of around 130+.
gabrielwhist 10-18-2007, 09:28 PM Actually, pretty much every one who's replied is a quote-unquote "Genius", at least using the Stanford-Binet scale. 130-134 is borderline.
Really? I thought it was like, 180. Man if its as low as 130 I MUST be a genius. If I had finished that test, I would have had a way higher score. Plus now I'm older and even more awesome. Yes, you may say being awesome has nothing to do with intelligence, but you are not factoring in the fact that my sheer awesomeness actually causes my grades to raise by a minumun of 5-10 points.
Actually dude, I'm thinking it'd be lower. It's my understanding that IQ tests aren't assessed in the same way as a standard test. It doesn't matter if you complete it or not. It's all just a matter of redundancy. But the more you do the more your prone to mistakes.
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 09:45 PM It's judged by time it takes to answer questions, redundancy as Sen said, and some other small things.
But what they fail to recognize in IQ Tests is different kinds of intelligence. You could be music smart, auditory smart, hands-on smart, etc.
There is said to be a new form of IQ Test being made, one that is said to incorporate all those areas. This should prove to be a more accurate test.
gabrielwhist 10-18-2007, 09:47 PM I'm good at everything but math.
Supa Fool 10-18-2007, 09:48 PM I'm bad at grammar, that's about it.
insan3 10-18-2007, 09:53 PM Im just alright at math, and pretty good in everything else
The Perfect Seven 10-18-2007, 10:42 PM 34
That's my ACT score

Yea. But dude, just to let you know, it's not a new test, just a revision of the Stanford-Binet. And truthfully, intelligence cannot be really be measured in a quantitative sense. The idea is bogus.
PS this is why I was scoffing before (http://www.iqsociety.org/general/IQchart.pdf)(pdf file). I'll find a plain text breakdown of it somewhere and post it. I fall in the top 0.5% and I'm only 139
*Edit*
I love wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_IQ_society#Entry_requirements). Makes life so simple
Supa Fool 10-19-2007, 03:38 PM I know it's wrong, but I consider revisions to just be new tests completely.
It's no problem if you don't believe me. I'm not gonna act all intelligent here anyway.
Nicky 10-19-2007, 03:53 PM I've always been afraid of IQ tests because I'm so atrocious at math... it's a terrible confidence killer for me. I'm always okay at most everything else though... except some short-term memory questions, particularly having to do with pictures. Apparently I'm an audio learner and not a visual learner... so it's hard for me to learn by looking at a series of pictures, same with most written sentences. Yet recite a paragraph to me and I could probably repeat more than half of if not the whole thing verbatim.
:P I also realized over time that my short-term memory is somewhat yet to be desired... yet I have crazy accurate long-term memory....
Ryu-Nacho 10-19-2007, 04:53 PM After reading that wiki article, I'm terrified. I don't want to join some super-intelligent community.
Nicky 10-19-2007, 05:15 PM It does seem kinda.... weird....
O_o
Supa Fool 10-19-2007, 05:37 PM *shiver*
It's not so much (anymore) that I don't believe you as it is that I think we are using two different formats. 160 on a Cattell-based test seems about right. But I know people with significantly higher IQs than my own, and their entire demeanor is inherently different. And they avoid stuff like this (messageboards) because it's annoying speaking to someone when you function on different echelons. Like me talking to a 8 year old about: I can't have a meaning convo, can I? By the time I'm through learning about what happened on the last episode of Kids Next Door, I'd want to kill something
Nicky 10-19-2007, 10:18 PM I guess... though I can't help but think that a good 60% of that has to do with the fact that post TAKING the I'Q test... their score number went to their heads causing them to inflate...
I mean... you're here aren't you?
Do they only speak in in scientific code? Any modern phrasing in considered Neanderthal?
gabrielwhist 10-20-2007, 01:47 AM I'm smart, but mostly just with left brain intelligence. You know, English, the arts, creative stuff. Not so good with math and analytical, though I have been told I am fair good speaker and debater. Though, I guess that would fall under left brained category as well, wouldn't it?
Nicky 10-20-2007, 01:50 AM I'm like that also... but I'm glad for that, really.
The only plans I have for my life have to do with the arts... it's pretty much always been that way.
gabrielwhist 10-20-2007, 01:52 AM I have zero plans for my life. I just don't know what I want to do yet.
Nicky 10-20-2007, 01:53 AM O_o... I never did understand that.
The only struggles with the future I've ever had were either worrying about not getting them done in time, or wondering if I'll have the ability to.
There's gotta be something you at least enjoy doing now...?
gabrielwhist 10-20-2007, 01:56 AM Nothing that I would wish to devote my life to. I mean, I kinda wanna be an actor, kinda wanna be a rockstar. Teacher or cop are my practical fall backs. But what I really want to do is be a drifter. Just riding the rails across America, pan handling and taking oddjobs to survive. No home. No family. Never tied down to one place. Always on the move. In the ye olden days this feeling was described as wander lust.
Nicky 10-20-2007, 01:59 AM So you wanna be a gypsy... sort've?
Seems fun, I actually wanted to sort of be one when I was younger. Though not for the rest of my life.
I always wanted to... well... one way or another, make some huge impact on the world. In a positive way.... through art... though actually I also want to teach children as well...
gabrielwhist 10-20-2007, 02:08 AM Not a gypsie. No fortune telling or anything like that, no little touristy type jobs, just honest work and panhandling. More like a bard from the middle ages, traveling all over and taking in the sights and scenes, writing music about them and stuff.
It used to be that all I wanted outta life was to be famous, to make a lasting impression on the world that would be remembered for ever. Like King Arthur or Alexander the Great, but then I realized that its impossible to leave a lasting impression in these times. No matter what you do, you will soon be forgotten.
I went to some gifted program in Sydney and they estimated out IQ to be pretty high, I laughed. I'm just good at school work is all.
Ryu-Nacho 10-20-2007, 08:56 AM Just riding the rails across America, pan handling and taking oddjobs to survive. No home. No family. Never tied down to one place. Always on the move. In the ye olden days this feeling was described as wander lust.
Heh...this is actually something I've considered too, to an extent. But it sounds a lot better than it actually would be considering the way things are.
...I realized that its impossible to leave a lasting impression in these times. No matter what you do, you will soon be forgotten.
Hmm... tell that to Einstein. Or Bush (lol I'm sure he's wishing he didn't make such a "lasting impression" on history)
Nicky 10-20-2007, 11:10 AM I went to some gifted program in Sydney and they estimated out IQ to be pretty high, I laughed. I'm just good at school work is all.
Aww don't be so hard on yourself... you seem smart to me.
Supa Fool 10-20-2007, 12:37 PM It's not so much (anymore) that I don't believe you as it is that I think we are using two different formats. 160 on a Cattell-based test seems about right. Just because I think differently doesn't mean my personality is all stuck-up-like.
Nicky 10-20-2007, 03:17 PM I don't know if he meant to be insulting.
Supa Fool 10-20-2007, 05:04 PM Neither did I, I just couldn't think of anything else to say. ;]
gabrielwhist 10-20-2007, 07:29 PM Heh...this is actually something I've considered to, to an extent. But it sounds a lot better than it actually would be considering the way things are.
Yeah, I know. But its still nice to dream.
Nicky 10-20-2007, 07:42 PM You could move to New Zealand!
Aww don't be so hard on yourself... you seem smart to me.
I just don't pay attention in class.
Natus Lumen 10-20-2007, 08:38 PM I think my IQ was something like 128 when I took it last year, but I am seriously one of the worst test-takers in the universe. Any kind of test that isn't a drug test? I will suck at it. The exception is timed writing tests, at which I am magnificent.
I don't see IQ tests as any sort of accurate representation of a person's intelligence, though. Can you measure a person's ability to learn from their mistakes from an IQ test? No. Grammar? No. Understanding human thought processes? No. Observing changes in the world around you? No. The ability to retain information? No. The ability to recognize complex patterns and connect words? Yes! But wait...how is that useful? It isn't.
Nicky 10-20-2007, 08:50 PM Really... there needs to be a better format for this.
Though hey, at least you scored 128, which is considered smart.
115 and above are considered more than average intelligence at the least.
The Perfect Seven 10-21-2007, 03:01 PM Actually it's right-brain intelligence that is creative, left-brain is analytical
And I'm one of those people who is "bright" but has no common sense whatsoever, plus I have ADD. Which means I can get an almost-perfect score on the ACT but I can't stay focused long enough to make a bowl of macaroni and cheese. People tell me that I come across as a complete idiot because I'm always like "wait what are we supposed to be doing?" all the time, but then ask me about some obscure historical reference and I can tell you all about it.
Nicky 10-21-2007, 03:05 PM I find that when I'm laying down before I go to sleep... the stranger... almost acidic thoughts occur more when I lay on the right side of my head... :P It's harder to sleep when I'm on my right side...

I have ADD too, I despise it.
Nicky 10-21-2007, 05:14 PM I have Aspergers... so I'm somewhat ADD as well... :P
gabrielwhist 10-21-2007, 05:19 PM I dont know why, but now I really want a Wetzel's Pretzel.
Nicky 10-21-2007, 06:37 PM I've never had a Wetzel's Pretzel. :(
gabrielwhist 10-21-2007, 07:21 PM They are deliiiiiiiiiiiiishus.
It seems like every other person has ADD these days. It's so common, it's like it's rare not to have it I swear.
The Perfect Seven 10-22-2007, 03:51 PM Well it does annoy me, all the middle school kids jumping around and running their mouths and using their self-diagnosed ADD as an excuse to be a rampant idiot.
Supa Fool 10-22-2007, 09:26 PM I'm not crazy, it's just like do one thing for 5 minutes and despite knowing it would be my favorite thing to do, I can't resist doing something else.
I also zone out on people mid-sentence.
Siriustar 10-22-2007, 11:20 PM I just had this acute feeling of floating. It's been happening a lot lately. I think I have a tumor D:
I've scored between 130-145 on legitimate IQ tests, most recently 142. Intelligence quotient is arbitrary bullshit, anyway. I know I'm intelligent, fuck your numbers.
gussa 10-23-2007, 09:22 AM IQ= more than yours
size of penis = above answer
Samiam22 10-24-2007, 02:09 PM Ok I have taken 2
Tickle (13+): 104
FreeIQtests or something like that (15+): 92

Perfect description of me... That's the REAL Attentive Deficit Disorder.
Not "OmG i had 2 mny SHUGARZ at lunch 2day WAAAHHHH!!!"
Dudeo 10-29-2007, 12:55 PM I seem to not have ADD. It's simple to focus, hard to give a damn.
The Perfect Seven 10-29-2007, 09:38 PM Thank you. Most idiots I know seem to equate ADD with not giving a damn. -_-
Nicky 10-29-2007, 10:06 PM ADD has lost credibility now... thanks to those people.
Aspergers Syndrome is getting ready to... eventually. After it's all hyped up and everyone will be accusing one another of being autistic.
gabrielwhist 10-29-2007, 10:20 PM Don't equate aspergers with add. They are not even close to being on the same plane.
Nicky 10-29-2007, 10:32 PM Yeah... I know.
Siriustar 10-29-2007, 11:29 PM Don't even joke about that... O_o
Not joking. I am seriously contemplating getting an MRI.
I used to think I had Asperger's, but I figure my parents just fucked up raising me.
gussa 11-03-2007, 06:41 AM lol
Ryu-Nacho 11-03-2007, 10:55 AM Somehow gussa, I don't think that was the appropriate response.
gussa 11-04-2007, 03:49 AM lol is always an appropriate response...
Nicky 11-05-2007, 04:54 PM I get a dramatically different score every time I take a stupid IQ test...
All of which are at least of average intelligence tor higher... but I still find it extremely frustrating.

That's me exactly except I don't have ADD. I'm smart with facts and such with an expansive vocabulary but I always mess something up like if I'm going to a store. For example, I was supposed to get hot dog buns for a barbecue but I returned with hamburger buns. DUR!
