On a related note to tropical vacations, the farthest away I went from my house this Summer was to San Antonio, for a soccer tournament, which is only an hour away. I didn't go on vacation at all. But I found out I'm going to Belize next Summer, so I'm excited.

I found the whole vampires thing to be kind of silly because a lot of the nerds who play board games at school seem to be into vampires a lot. In fact, so into vampires it kind of scares me a bit.

I put my money on the vampires, werewolves are all rabid and savage, plus they have fleas. They just won't win because vampires are much faster and stronger than werewolves.

Also, in most stories and myths, werewolves are far stronger and more durable than vampires. However, I am a firm believer that 70% of the time, speed will beat strength, so the Vamps would probably trump the wolves.

Interesting, but I thought the werewolf mutations were transmitted by being bit by it, not by biting it.

No. In most mythology, werewolves and vampires are eternal enemies and sometimes an attempt at cross breeding would kill the werewolf. Or the vampire, if the wolf bit him deep enough. Usually though, there are no effects. There are rare (almost entirely modern) creatures called Werepyres, which are a cross between werewolf and vampire. As I have said though, these are not existent in mythology, but a creation of modern writers. They are most often portrayed as a winged werewolf, or a very hairy vampire with giant incisors. Then there are the hybrids in the Underworld series. But now I'm just rambling.

I can't think of vampires without thinking of goth-anime kids. Werewolves...not that interesting. I think an actual vampire would win. I mean, how much easier to kill someone with a silver bullet would it be than to drive a stake through their heart?

Not really, its just as expensive as normal silver. You can actually buy them in some head shops. I bought one, drilled a hole through it in shop class and hung it from a chain as a necklace. I gave it to my girlfriend for her birthday.

Or...you can make your own silver bullets if you have the molds and everything.

@Gabby: that's a little weird. I mean, cool, like something I would give my brother or a nerdy friend, but still a little strange. But if your girlfriend liked it, I suggest not dumping her. And if her parents didn't disapprove I would call you an idiot for dumping her. You'll save yourself a lot of money and a lot of trouble.

@DS: who has the molds to make a bullet? I guess you could get them on ebay, but then you'd have to find something made out of silver or raw silver and melt it and pour it in the mold.

And things that are pure silver are pretty expensive. Most things that say they're made of silver are usually silver mixed with lead or graphite or some other kind of metal.

Usually in other "fantasy" or "vampire" fiction stories they say they melt silver down from a blessed church cross and use that silver to make the bullets that they shoot with their guns.

Then if you reverted the werewolf back to normal then he'd be a mortal human vulnerable to bullets, which the holy water covered bullet would kill him.

My girlfriends parents didn't like me at first but after a year or two it's all good. They like me fine, although we still disagree on a few things I think. I've been a total ass to their daughter though...on occasion.
