Hi erm i dunno which one to get and i wanna see what peoples views are either please t ohelp me make my decision

i think the psp is way better. the graphics for one are way better. The PSP also can play movies and can serve as an mp3 player. There are not that many games for it right now but i predict that soon many well known game companies will start producing good games for the PSP. The only disadvantage i would have to say is the memory sticks. Good memory sticks can cost over a hundred dollars. But hey make you decision for yourself.

If you're not sure you can afford a PSP, go with DS. If you're just worried about the system itself and money is no object, go with PSP. I'm too broke to get a PSP... otherwise I would have. DS is a bit over complicated and went overboard on the 2 screens. It's kinda hard to focus on both.

any ways i agree that you have to know your roots. i just dont thikn nintendo is as into the DS as they were with some of the older hand helds. On the other hand Sony is tryin to come out on top in the war of the hand helds so their doing all sorts of stuff for the PSP.

The ds is ok, but come on what is the point. Why am I paying another $100 on an extra screen that I dont really need. The games are too small, and knowing little kids, and slackers like me I will totaly loose all the games within the first week.

Now allthough I believe the psp is a better system, I believe that having its own cartrage disk thingy whatever. I mean, ****, why not make the thing alittle bigger, and let it play cds, dvd and old ps2 games. That would be what I would have done. You also have to buy flash memory for the thing because it has no built in memory. **** MORE DAMN MONEY...

dudes dudes dudes, it is quite simple really. the ds is better in that it has more games, strange new technologie like the stylus and the fact that it has 2 screens!!! :smokeing1 but the psp is better in that it can play dvds and is an mp3player.

The downsides are that he ds's grafics are a little worse than the psp but the psp's dvd player does not read normal dvd's, it only reads special psp cd's! and it is more than twice the cost of the ds.

Well after all this i'm getting a ds but you can all make up your own minds.

Oh, and BTW, the DS is going online as well, that much has been confirmed by Nintendo. It is also confirmed that Metroid Prime Hunters will have full online multiplayer. Whether or not there will be a charge for this service is unconfirmed.

No i havn't i can't afford the newest system straight away but about a year after they have been released or for my birthday or christmas i get it i'm not rich do you have any idea how much those things cost they arn't cheap i'll tell you that and psp that is way to expensive

First of all, who's getting pissy? I just said your sources were faulty...

Secondly, the details of DS online play are sketchy and subject to change at the moment. All that I know is that Nintedo is definitely going to be online, as it has been confirmed in one of their "2005 summer release" pamphlets. Whether it will be wireless or anything like that is anyone's guess at the moment...

It's the Japanese version. It's called Play-Yan. And Bagel Head, the DS will have online capabilities once Animal Crossing, the first wi-fi game for DS, comes out. I believe it will come with a USB cable or an attatchment; most likeley USB. When you hook it up to your computer, you go to the GameSpy network site and download the free software they will offer. The you install it and somehow will be able to see other peoples houses and stuff. No, not their real houses, the Animal Cossing ones. I think the DS would be much better in the long-run. Because if you accidentally drop or bump the PSP too hard, there goes your $200. The DS is coming out with some huge titles soon. Personally, I think Nintendo should have waited until they had more titles ready before they released the DS. The DS will soon be able to play Mp3s and movies. I already have a DS and I like it, except I think they are overdoing the touch thing.

me having worked for blockbuster, i have played all of the DS and PSP games, idon't get to play them much but i still do. So far, im not impressed with the psp, all this extra useless features, woohoo, it can play mp3, but wait, i have a cd player that is mp3 compatible for...$20. it can play movies, but that is what i own a tv and dvd player for. it can surf the internet (have not tried this function), that is what im doing on this computer. all i need it to do is to play games, but all the games suck and i still don't think the graphics are a plus. they suck compared to my expectations, i thought they were good but i guess it is just to make my by this piece of shat. i hope sony goes bankrupt.
(i don't actually own a tv and dvd player, i just use my parents stuff, haha)
DS does what i want it too, play games and play with other people. that is all that is needed. the touch screen is cool but after you let everyone in the area use it, then it gets messed up quickly, so my advise is to getsome kid of screen protector, and don't let more then twenty people play the same one in a single day. better games too.

the DS wasn't out much longer than psp, so the game amount can't be blamed on the late arrival of psp.

4)Store Songs, Music Videos, Your Own movies from the computer.
5)Have better graphics.

DS can do things that PSP can't do...

1)Have more unique games with the touch screen.
2)Have more battery life.
3)More childish games.

DS can only play music using a special Gameboy Advanced MP3 player upgrade which goes in the backward compatibale part on the DS.

regularly PSP cant get internet access but you can hack it to be able to have full internet access, play nearly any game wirelessly online by tunneling, and some other stuff. My friend did it to his PSP and it worked.

FYI guys, grand theft auto is old and is still the same game that it was when GTA 3 came out. it has been copied too many times to count and by now im suprised that you sony fans arent tired of it by now. and to the starter of this thread, if you are a graphics *****, definately go with the psp, its got a bigger screen with better graphics, and it scratches sooo easily, so youll have fun playing it in your white gloves. if you care about gameplay, go with the ds. my friend dropped his in a toilet and it still works fine, try that with a psp.

its relly hard to damage nintendo products. i accidentaly threw a n64 game up 2 stories and it landed on a paved drive way and works like it was new. durability is imposrtant in a sytem, expecialy portable 1s

I wouldn't drop any handheld/console in the toilet....besides, why would he have it NEAR a toilet...if you put a hori screen protector on your psp it will resist pretty much everything, because of that mine is still 100% scratch free, and dead/stuck pixel free. Keep in mind that the PSP wasn't designed for clumsy people, but then again no electronics are, they're delicate. If I dropped my tower from 3 feet in the air I can rest assured that it wouldn't work anymore.

dude the game cube took like no damage and if anything ur more like ly to drop ur x box then hit it with a sledge hammer. plus it has a hard drive wich is he easiest part to damage.

I would never drop an electronics device. It would be more likely that my entire book case would fall over upon it. Harddrives are fairly resiliant all in all, but even if it breaks I have a 130 gig Hitatchi in mine that I could replace (for the next 4 years for free actually since it's under warranty) fairly cheaply, under 50 USD.

P.S. Yes my XBox is modded, along with my PS2, Dreamcast, PSP, and GBA.

No way! I remember people doing this sort of thing with their dreamcast, but I was unaware the Gamecube could do this. Maybe I'll have use for my 2 Gamecubes with broadband adapters.

great graphics, full length movies :mf_w00t2: !!!, gta: liberty city stories, dead to rights, the godfather, and there is actually an anolog stick and a directional pad thing!!
bad things: in scenes with lots of people or explosions the psp slows down to a crawl!!! and the Wi-Fi setup thing is a pain in the butt to setup for mediocre quality online play

dudes dudes dudes, it is quite simple really. the ds is better in that it has more games, strange new technologie like the stylus and the fact that it has 2 screens!!! :smokeing1 but the psp is better in that it can play dvds and is an mp3player.

The downsides are that he ds's grafics are a little worse than the psp but the psp's dvd player does not read normal dvd's, it only reads special psp cd's! and it is more than twice the cost of the ds.

Well after all this i'm getting a ds but you can all make up your own minds.

PSP still costs more money. Also the graphics do suck, just less than the DS'.

My PSP lasts for about 5-7 hours depending on what I'm doing, my DS lasts about 10 hours, but I have a car charger which make either work well. right, lets get down to it...
i have a DS and it is very good. touch screen brings the games to life and duel screen is good. it may take time to get used to the buttons but it is well worth it.

PSP is great aswell. It has movies great sound quality and i think the memory thing is awesome. The games are great and it has awesome graphics.
Overall though, if you have the money you should buy PSP. but DS is great for people who dont have enough money for PSP.
If you of course are super rich you should get one of each. :D

Anyways, the PSP has better graphics, better games (if you like sony, it's different if you prefer nintendo), and the system itself doesn't make you look like as much of a dork. The recent price drop has made it a very close competetor with the DS. The UMD's will be very cool when the go down in price. I would rather play a game on one normal screen then have some wacky touch screen control.

I prefer to avoid both handhelds.
