I made this a few months ago for our Technology Communication class.
First succesful game I made in flash :)
Basically its a roughly made tank game where you shoot UFO's.
Why UFO's? dunno, anyways, you aim with your mouse. you can move but there isnt much point too be truthful >_>
EDIT: Space too shoot,
EDIT again: Oops! incorrect version >_< i had one that was good for the web.
this one was just meant too be played on harddrive. will fix :Confuzzle

How are we supposed to use the mouse, the Space key, AND the arrow keys all at once? I only have... 1.... 2 hands!!!!!

hehe, anyways, I'm still dabbling. A cheap side-scrolling shooter wasnt my original idea but i had no time, only 2 weeks to work on it and 1 week spent learning how too use flash and decide.
the file is on my school's harddrive. no changing till .. not now.
may I recommend changing the arrow keys to the W,A,S,D keys (so it gives a FPS type control?).
otherwise i think this is almost impossible to play :)
but looks like good work! very nice.

avvy was in my pictures, random selection.
I'll do that on monday when i have access too the file, so that I may add the thingy.. and.. yeah.
this is just my first though, i was expecting it too be crappy. but hey it scored me 100% on the project :D
EDIT: As for the lag, I hadnt figured out what "tile based games" and why flash cannot handle larger scrolling images until after i was finished. @.@
i dont think it lagged for me

how did you get it to make the ball have curve in the air?
like gravity i mean. is it just in the gravity code? cuz it looked a little hand animated if you know what i mean. great game though.

i must have a slow computer, anyways. heres a new version.
better controls. a preloader, although given the size isnt really needed.
A = Left
D = Right
Space = Shoot
Mouse = Aim
The gravity i just added an x^2 too the projectiles path, its been months though so i dont... remember where >.o
