Has anybody here tried it? I have not yet, mostly because I dont own Company of Heroes. Supposedly the performance of the DX10 was not so great, and the water looked crappy. The player models looked improved though.

If you bought AMD's new "Gaming platform" 4x4, you would have been better off with a Core 2 QX6700 as it's faster at stock, uses less power, and overclocks a hell of a lot better, not to mention the platform is cheaper too. Are you running X1950XTXs? That pair would provide a sweet gaming experience for most games, but doesn't support Direct X10 and the patch this thread is talking about.

i've got the four cores 4x4 and it does what i want it to do, And i bought if for 500 bucks so i got it cheaper than the intel at 700 bucks and when i need a new processor in two years i'll buy one.

On Newegg.com, a QX6700 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115011) is currently priced at $968, where two FX74 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103866)s would cost you a bit less at $814.
The only 4x4 motherboard available is the ASUS L1N64-SLI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131146) which is priced at $330, which is around $150 more than the average LGA775 SLI motherboard.
Thanks to both Windows XP and Windows Vista not being NUMA aware, and the fact that K8 has a lower IPC than Core 2, the 3GHz FX74s lose to the QX6700 in EVERY benchmark, be it a single thread or multi threaded.
Another problem with the FX74s in a 4x4 configuration is that it would literally consume 2x as much power as the QX6700, as each FX74 is rated at a 130W TDP where the QX6700 alone has a TDP around 130W.
Also, say you like overclocking, the QX6700 is already faster out of the box at 2.66GHz than the 3GHz FX74, but it can easily hit 3.33GHz with a multiplier increase, where the 3GHz FX74 generally can't break 3.2GHz.

Now that I think about, the only 4x4 motherboard out is based on an Nvidia chipset so you're either:
A) Lying about your whole system
B) Using some sort of untested hacked drivers to get your X1950s to work in Crossfire

I'm thinking it's A, but I don't know why you'd lie about owning a system that's inefficient on so many levels.

VooDoo, I have no qualms with you, but I think it would be more helpful if you'd post your system specs when talking about how a game ran on your machine. This thread is about the Direct X10 version of Company of Heroes, and seeing as you claim to own X1950s, you can't run the Direct X10 version of the game anyways. If you'd rather not participate, go ahead and continue with your childish insults, but you're only making yourself look like a fool.

Like you said the graphics are decent but theres no physics so whats the point every gun feels the same so whats the point.

BTW, My graphics and processors are maxed out that much that i aint even gonna explain my specs, it'll take too long (large computer) so no probs on performance on my side with me thinking the game sucks.
