The only sure fire way I have come up with that wins in gambling against the house is when there is a 1 to 2 odds on anything, like red and black in roulette.
Start with a starting bet lets say 'x'.
You bet that amount and if you lose it you bet '2x' then '4x' and so on...
when you win you come back to 'x' and have won a total of 'x'.
If you won at the 4th try, you have put in 'x+2x+4x+8x=15x' and have won 16x which would give a net profit of one bet.
Cant logically find any other way of winning inless playing against players like in poker

The only problem with that kind of system is that a bad run can clean you out completely in a very short time.
take a first small bet of $100 (and assume a very likely 5 bet losing streak)
1. $100
2. $200
3. $800
4. $6,400
5. $51,200
so in only 5 bets - 10 minutes of playing you're down $58,700
the house is unbeatable
In the long term for sure but short term gains are there to be made if you pick the right games and use intelligent strategies rather than inflexible 'systems'

You can't beat the house on a statistical level. No matter how hard you try man.

Yeah...and plus the house has the advantage because they obviously have more money than you.

yes.....
odds are that if you continually play, the house will ultimately clean you out..

Yeah...and plus the house has the advantage because they obviously have more money than you. That has nothing to do with it.

So if you keep losing you multiply your bet higher and higher each time until you go home to your wife and kids and say that gambled away the house, car, and everything else you own?
If you won at the 4th try, you have put in 'x+2x+4x+8x=15x' and have won 16x which would give a net profit of one bet.The art of gambling isn't how much it cuts your losses if you win, it's IF you win period. If you didn't win on the 4th try, then your model doesn't work. Theres no guarantee that you win at all.
You can't beat the house on a statistical level.

I had this stratagy work for a while in baccarat. I had been trying to figure out different shortrun winning stratagies for various casino (http://www.Deonlinecasino.com) games(meaning they will win for a while, then inevitably lose). I had heard of doing progressions in blackjack, but thought that was an aweful idea what with the house edge of a few percent in that game. Then I decided to try it in baccarat since the edge in that game is very small. A friend and I each put $100 into an account, and within a two week period our $200 turned into $1800. Needless to say, I knew if we kept trying we'd get screwed over and lose it, so we cashed out and ran with it. Worked out quite well in the short run, but you couldn't have it work forever, the odds will eventually catch you.

Red/Black in roulette is 1:1.x odds.
What your talking about is the Martingale system. Proven not to work unless you have an infinite bankroll.
Straight up without bonuses, 99% of the games have a house advantage or a -EV

Blackjack is the only one you can gain an advantage with. Card counting rules supreme. If you've ever seen the show 'Breaking Vegas' You would know what I mean.

you know they don't like you counting cards?
if not they will soon explain it to you out the back of the car park with a baseball bat....
