Came out today. I had a 75$ Best Buy gift card laying around, so i actually went and bought a game! *gasp*...i refrained from downloading it.
It has way better graphics than the original on Xbox.
If anybody else gets it, tell me, and we will play some multiplayer.
=====
Oh, and the only downfall is that you need Vista :(

I might get it when I am dying of boredom or something.

I would get it but I don't have Vista and I don't think my computer will be able to support it that easily.

is it better than halflife 2?

gussa

that depends on many many many things!

If it was still Direct X10 based, I definitely would have picked it up; we can all thank Microsoft for requiring Vista, even though it runs under Direct X9.

Yeah, Microsoft is always trying to trick us into buying their latest and greatest products.

After playing Halo 2 some more, I have came to a conclusion, It is fun, and posibly worth the money, but Microsoft has a card up their sleeve. In order to get full on multiplayer with all the features, you have to buy "Windows Live: Gold" which is like another $50.
Multiplayer still has matchmaking and crap, but you cant talk and play with friends who have xbox's unless you have that gold thing.

and sean, you cant even really compare this game to half life 2 as gussa said, it is like a whole different genre (kinda).

Nah...Half-Life 2 has a better storyline I think, but Halo 2 has a pretty nice multiplayer.

Exactly as he said. Halo's singleplayer was just point and shoot and blow the shit out of everything. In half-life, you actually had to think about stuff.
As Shinobi said though, halo 2 has much better multiplayer IMO.

Actually, there is Half-Life2: Deathmatch.

Actually, there is Half-Life2: Deathmatch.
Yeah, thats what I was talking about.
And you were right before, an Xbox live gold account works to, but sadly, i dont have that either.

but
A: thats not half life 2... it is a modification of it
B: it sucks ass anyway...

A modification made by Valve?... But yeah, it does suck.

Drunken_Shinobi

Yeah...Half-Life 2 itself isn't multiplayer, you have to download a whole separate game or mod from steam to have multiplayer with HL2. I find the whole thing with HL2: DM not too fun because all you do is kill each other and that gets boring very fast.

insan3
05-12-2007, 06:51 PM
Yeah, the levels on DM are boring as well

gussa
05-12-2007, 08:24 PM
they're crap...
garrys mod is awesome

insan3
05-12-2007, 09:47 PM
Garrys mod is awesome. I got gmod 10 a few weeks back. I just like how the possibilities are endless in that thing. Most of the time I just build catapults

Zetex
05-12-2007, 10:41 PM
I made a muffin man with Gary's mod. I then proceeded to remove it from my computer.

gussa
05-12-2007, 11:01 PM
the only problem is that you need to get all these mods for it if you want to play multi player....

Drunken_Shinobi

Yeah, but it doesn't really matter if your computer is good.

MrNaPaLm32
05-13-2007, 12:36 PM
Yeah, but it doesn't really matter if your computer is good.hard drive space..........not performance

insan3
05-13-2007, 02:12 PM
yeah, that is a problem, HL2: DM came with my copy of HL2, so I never had to buy it seperate.

Drunken_Shinobi
05-13-2007, 06:43 PM
hard drive space..........not performance
I wasn't being specific for the performance, I meant generally if the computer is good overall in every aspect including performance and space then it wouldn't be a problem to install all those mods.

gussa
05-14-2007, 01:29 AM
well really th main problem is that using all these mods, they can mess each other up and ultimately fuck up garrys mod. resulting in a complete re-installation...
computer space isn't too much of a problem (the biggest mod is like 50 meg). but if you have a generally shit computer, the added effects and extra rendering etc, can result in a blue screen of doom.

Drunken_Shinobi
05-15-2007, 12:59 AM
Oh yes...getting screwed over by those idiots who spam crap on purpose to screw over those who have bad computers. One time a moron tried to host a server with a crappy computer...he didn't do too well after me and a friend bombed it with huge crap because he was being a moron.

gussa
05-15-2007, 06:29 AM
i did that.
i spawned a jeep and COVERED it in the large thrusters.
i tapped the launch button and thats the last time i used garrys mod...

Drunken_Shinobi
05-15-2007, 06:25 PM
On multiplayer?

gussa
05-16-2007, 06:37 AM

The game is exactly the same as the original apart from the two extra maps so whats the point, i'll wait until you daft guinea pigs have plagued the system full of bugs and maybe just maybe i'll buy Vista then. I don't buy advertisements i buy performance.

Drunken_Shinobi
06-21-2007, 03:53 PM
The only thing advertising vista would be the games that need Vista which say "Vista Only" or something like that.

gussa

when he said advertisements, its because he couldn't find a word for crap....

insan3
06-25-2007, 05:38 PM

duuuh...
