*Just for defination's sake, I am using Wikipedia's defination of New Age, which means an ecletic and individual approach to spirituality, and some of the following beliefs that many New Agers share:

1. All living things are spiritually interconnected.

2. Spiritual beings are willing to guide us.

3. The individual has a purpose for being on Earth.

4. Intuition or "divine guidance" is a more appropriate guide than skepticism or the scientific method.

5. Western science wrongly neglects such things as parapsychology, meditation, and holistic health.

6. Eastern practices such as meditation and yoga are worthwhile.

7. Science and spirituality can live in harmony with each other.

8. The mind has hidden powers and abilities (psi).

9. This is a time of great transformation for the Earth and human consciousness.

10. Dreams and psychic experiences are ways in which our souls express themselves.

I can't believe there's such an age and it does sound like a bunch of logicless garbage.

Some of it sounds possibly legit but there is no way I can look at that and say "intuition is better than the scientific method, no questions asked"

I'm ok with some of it, like spirituality and science getting along. A lot of it sounds like someone's dreaming or high though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't all spiritual movements logicless garbage?

Correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't all spiritual movements logicless garbage? The second great awakening was a spiritual movement that resulted in many things we take granted today. I wont list them.

I'm talking about the spiritual part, not the numerous ideas that were a bi-product. I'm not saying that religion doesn't organize people and lead to great advances in society, I'm just saying that the motivation behind them (being spirituality) are usually not based on any sort of logic or anything of the sort.

(Also, the second great awakening was a huge boom in the christian faith and its interpretation, not a new spiritual movement)

Transcendentalism wasn't a load of garbage.

I can't say it is all logicless garbage but I have never really liked the idea of following any movement other than my own. Other people's ideas tend to be either boring to me or just not on par with what I am looking for.
